The thigh bone is connected to other bones no matter how old they are.  But some bones are found by paleoarchaeologists who not only like but must get down and dirty to find them.  Recent discoveries have been making a whole tribe of educated guessers pushing the origins of our species further back to say, almost two million years.  There are more primitive types than homo sapiens-sapiens (our crowd that is crowding out other species just to make room for us).  Since none of the earlier “precursors” of us, the master race, are alive today, we have given them names and listed them from almost like us to very primitive, very much like lower species of Bonobos and regular Chimpanzees.  In fact, we all have been classified as “Primates” and the earlier types of those close to us go back even more millions of years for when they branched off and became like, you know, human.

I once got into a debate with a lady who likened us to birds with freedom to fly high in the sky when, by and by they decided to become more like us.  I didn’t know much about the facts the scientists tell us that birds are really descendants of dinosaurs and not like us even though they shed hard skin for feathers.  My instincts led me to tunnels under the earth where we would learn more about our remote ancestors by finding their fossilized remains.  Here is the problem – how do the experts know?  I think they have a lot of classroom education, see a lot of pictures and drawings and then go to the bones or casts of them and study hard.  But, somewhere along the line of developing scientific knowledge and prognostication, some individual began to assign lineage and names and we now have a great deal of information about EVOLUTION.  This upsets the literalists who study the Bible over and over and can’t get beyond the WORDs which declared that it all started with God who created all living things, work and vacations.

What is extremely interesting to me is how geologists have put names to strata of earthly remains and thus gave us ages far beyond Bishop Usher’s some 4,000 years ago at 3 a.m. in the morning – or another equally vacuous declaration.  Bones found in specific strata that has universal acceptance as more or less correct, given a million years either way, are thus dated.  We think our most recent ancestors descended from the trees and began the domination of the land.

In any event, it has taken a lot of time – perhaps 1.8 million years more or less for our kind to spread all over the globe and inherited the earth, sea and sky.  It is sort of sad to know this (even if we are really not sure) because we don’t know how to run the world so all species can get along together in peace and harmony
