I suppose that a lot of us “Liberal” types are not angry enough and frustrated enough to do much more than moan and groan about the Conservative bias against Liberalism of all types and stripes.  Conservatives never tire of the blame game.  Instead of new progressive social programs, they constantly renew successful attacks (that have grown old – you would think they would have learned) against these programs that can do good things for Americans on the margins as well as all those tax-paying types in the middle. They cannot stop themselves from trying to find new ways to configure old trash about “do-good” Liberal programs and endlessly repeat the litany of the disgrace of Bill Clinton’s excesses in legislation as well as in his debauchery of women.

Conservatives have made serious inroads on the Democratic and Liberal establishment that once described a land attractive to so many upward thinking refugees and immigrants.  These literally die or indenture themselves just to breathe our liberating air.  Unfortunately, for all of us beyond the religiously right fringe, Conservatives have brought us dishonest elections up to the highest bench as well as destruction of sound programs for health, the aged and the best free public education for all American youth. The Conservatives and their lackeys among the Republicans and Democrats who pander to religious fundamentalists and oil and gun lobbies, have also denigrated the process of conception, gestation and birth rights of women.  The Middle of our country has been driven – whipped - straight down a disgraceful reactionary road.

Conservative biases are obscured in the chorus of “Praise Jesus” and “Bless HIS name” by the repressive religious Right.  There is a hint of revulsion against this new reactionary conservative hold on hinterland America.  It is clear that in their agenda of wresting control away from their maligned targets of Liberals, secular humanists and tree hugging conservationists, they are turning control over to oil interests and businesses to continue plundering Mother Nature.

It is time to not only expose the biases of the Conservative Religious Right as unworthy of a free people in a democratic country governed by republican institutions.  Conservatives are gaining control by using democracy to win the fight against our fair and universally applied laws to every class and every striving minority who live less than minimal lives on the fringes of our great society.

We can do better.  The Conservative bias is much more destructive than the Liberal one.  It is time to look and see the damage the Conservatives have caused.
