THINGS THAT VEX
I don't know how to equate things that should not be compared. The Israelis have just suffered another attack by a madman convinced he is doing a good thing. The Catholic Church is convinced that its majesty and singularity must be defended even when it has been shown that some of its Priests are less than priestly. Enron has demonstrated the worst economic practices of greed that can take place under democratic auspices. Each day people slaughter each other in vehicles that are un-inspected dangerous piles of expensive junk by believing themselves to be invincible. Our statesmen continue to act as though they haven't a clue how to conduct themselves in the business of running the world. And, so on.
What is vexing me at this time while I list JUST A FEW of the things that are wrong in this imperfect world is a little thing. It is a wire or a switch or a button that is not right in my wife's new car. Now this is, as I have stated, not to be compared with a partial list of the things that are wrong with the world. But, I have to drive the car over and over to the dealership that sold it to me with warranties, handshakes and smiles.
Our dash lights do not go on. We cannot drive safely at night without being able to see our speed and the state of our gas supply. This is a little thing but the owner of the car I drive is unhappy and that makes me unhappy and I am trying to make the Chrysler dealership unhappy, too. I rarely invoke the title LEMON, particularly since what is involved is mostly a little thing like a wire, switch or a button that was not able to be fixed after another trip to the Agency that sent me out into the world with warranties, handshakes and smiles.
I write because I do that when I get up in the morning. I refused to get into the car this morning and go back to the dealer again until I am assured that someone will come down here and fix the damn thing. You and I know that will never happen. Carol's Evaluation: 10 out of 10.
