BACKERS OF TERROR
Most of the Press and the gurus whose opinions are simplistic stock phrases about the Middle East have not dealt with the source of most of the terror that exists in pockets around the world. These groups are related and part of the concerted attack against the existence of the State of Israel. Osama bin Laden was only the tip of the visible structure of that attack and only because it was successfully directed against the United States.
The human bombs who murder by blowing themselves and innocent civilians up are single-mindedly trained as military tools of far off planners who sit in safety. Places like restaurants, busses, street corners and office buildings in Israel, the United States, and Venezuela, the Philippines and synagogues and Jewish business in Europe are targets of choice. “Gunmen” snipe at Israeli soldiers and plant booby traps for them. Palestinian civilians, like the Israeli victims of terror attacks, are used as shields by the brave “gunmen”. These “gunmen” are just extensions of the planners sitting free of worry in far off Qatar, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
While the principle sources of terror may be found in Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran and Iraq there are more scattered in cells that we have not yet identified. They are part of a “vast conspiracy” and an industry committed to killing innocents to forward, not the cause of Palestinian autonomy and self government, but of their own political, religious and economic agendas which may not be identical. They may soon be fighting each other on ideological grounds. They all have the expressed aim to “drive the Jews into the sea” first and foremost.
Yasir Arafat is not a hero – although he is feted as one. He has only been effective in non-action towards ending confrontation and is a figurehead for the puppeteers in Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran and Iraq. Moslems around the world proclaim him a great hero. The millions (more than four to one to Jews here in the U.S.) exist in little Ramallahs and Jenins where they show their allegiance to “back home” very much like the unassimilated Cubans who yearn to take back the land that Castro rules.
It need not be pointed out that Jews who want to visit Israel do not want to live there. The Palestinians and other Moslems who came to the United States to become citizens do not really want to go back “home” to live. They like it here. That little bit of land at the end of the Mediterranean could not hold all the descendants of those who lived there before 1948 or those who might be willing to go there to live because of its history and salubrious climate most of the year.
The demonstrations held by Moslems against Israel at monuments erected to commemorate millions of victims of hate are demonstrations of hate and fan the flames of conflict far beyond the borders of Israel and Palestine. They revive the vicious lies that were told by the Nazis and are believed by grieving Palestinian victims of Arab and Moslem directors of terror.
The source of terror is not the indoctrinated school child and beloved “martyr” of troubled families. They are grist in the propaganda mills that drive peaceful people to become sacrifices for secretive murderous religious ideologues who sit in peace and make plans for others to kill for them. They are free of personal involvement in far-off Qatar, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Iran – but not in Palestine – there lives are sacrificed for the vile planners. The Israeli military punishes those they can get their hands on. The planners can send directives to Palestine but Israel cannot strike back at those who have the power to annihilate it.
Afghanistan is a prime example of religious extremism and the cost to the people who suffered under Taliban leadership. Anger against Moslems who foster hatred against the U.S. as a symbol of “Satan” is understandable. It is much less serious than the use of Palestinians as tools to further terrorist aims. It is quite different when the scenario gets down to the level of mothers and fathers sending their children to die because their education is printed in books that come from far off Qatar, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
