THINKING ALLOWED
Essays on Issues, Ideas and Reflections on the Times. Published Now and
Then. Opinions Pro or Con Are Welcome.

I'D LIKE TO TRY AN EXPERIMENT

Writing comes easily to me. It does not come easily to a lot of people
including some of my most loyal readers. However, I have discovered that
some who read my stuff like to explain at length why I am wrong, why I am
right or why their stuff is quite all right. One is a great exponent of the
terse, short and irreducible reply. Another explains the historical roots
of all of the points I make plus his analysis of what is wrong with America
today.

I think the replies I receive are great stuff. I just haven't given much
though to publishing them because what I have to say just keeps tumbling out
daily - sometimes nightly - and my editor requires that I reduce my mighty
thoughts to one page in length.

However as that may be, I'd like to try an experiment. What would you say
to my selecting some of the best replies to my essays and including them in
one issue or perhaps as an introduction to or an ending of each of them?
Would you like to know who they are? Would who they are like to be
identified?

Now this requires that even the most reticent of my readers to sit at the
keys of their computers and tap out their thoughts on the matter. After
all, the key to this whole series of essays is about thinking anyway. I find
that despite the weight of years, the application of my brain to thinking
small to great thoughts keeps me thinking.

Waddayasay? In advance of Carol's evaluation I am going to predict that she
thinks this is a good idea and she thought it up a long time ago and cannot
think why she never mentioned it. WDYT?
Carol's Evaluation: 10 out of 10.
