THE 47 NATIONS

When you think about it (and you should) there is only one Israel while
there are 47 nations lined up solidly against this Middle Eastern State.
That all of these 47 nations are fundamentally Islamic is clear. They each
separately and together make up almost the entire Muslim population in the
world numbering in terms of size the second largest religious block after
Catholicism in all its versions.

What should be clear is that these 47 nations harbor ill will towards
Israel on the grounds of religious competition - a Goliath of nations
against a David armed with a slingshot. Arrayed together in a rare unity
they could overwhelm the Jews in an instant. When asked why they haven't
done this, the answer is also clear. They tried and were not unified enough
in the previous wars. The U.S. support for Israel has been the deterrent. It
is also clear that these 47 nations have allowed theocracies to operate in
their countries. Religious fundamentalists tell civil governments what they
can and cannot do. These groups give aid to the terrorists who blow-up
innocents in other countries as well as their own to show that they can do
it and have done it on a terrible scale in the United States.

The 47 nations and their huge population could have unified long ago on the
simple issue of wiping out Israel. It must be noted that they all submit to
the "Will of Allah" but differ in important ways in how to worship Allah.
The independence of the Israeli people has always been in jeopardy. Their
ancient link in this "Holy" land to be a "light unto the nations" does not
resonate with the 47 in this and the previous century.

The Jewish presence in this ancient land is a historical fact since it was
created by a United Nations declaration. All the 47 nations were not, at
that time, in existence. The ancient promise recorded in the texts of each
of the major religious groups (the Jewish group is not major in numbers) is
repeated: the Jews were chosen to show the world the way to monotheism.
Superior numbers have threatened every generation of Jews. In the last
century their neighbors have not accepted them nor were they allowed to
trade and grow in peace with each other.

The 47 nations harbor and give aid to 22 fugitives linked to terror,
totalitarian rule, suppression of women and fear of open and democratic
systems. It has been easy to point out the profile of a world-class
criminal in the persona of Osama bin Laden - but he should not be the sole
target of America's response to world-class terrorism.

I fear that the 47 nations cannot be called to account for their excesses
against the Jewish minority. They will not allow arguments against their
xenophobia and support for activists who seek to rub out the "Zionist"
presence in ancient Zion. I fear that their numbers among the council of
nations will make the rest of the world accept their arguments as
legitimate. The rest of the world will accept the continued persecution of
this small country and also accept the accusation that this tiny nation
persecutes a much larger group - the 47 nations opposed to it. The rest of
the world, the non-Islamic nations, has been made to pay attention to the
raging propaganda against Jews, Israel and "Zionism as Racism". Their
numbers have the mass to roll right over opposition to win acceptance of
their arguments and continued persecution of Jews. Their ill-will towards
the United States can prevail as they assert America deserves its punishment
for the help given this tiny, hardly half a Century-old nation.

How long do you think the technically superior "Allied" forces that really
do not include Arabic or Islamic nations, will be allowed to impose its will
on one of the 47 nations? We are between a rocky terrain and a hard place -
47 countries supporting terrorist notions of an enemy - the U.S.A. What is
to be done?
Carol's Evaluation: 9.5 out of 10.
