DID YOU EVER HAVE THE FEELING?
Remember the Jimmy Durante rendering of the song about staying and going?
"Did you have the feeling that you wanted to stay? Go?" That was a great
song of little import but filled with human experience.

I have had lots of feelings. Mostly, the ones that make me feel I have
been foolish - they stay with me for years and years. Things I mistakenly
did (you note I did not say, foolish) stick with me and intrude on my
thoughts in inappropriate times when I should have been feeling invincible
or incredibly creative.

Did you ever have the feeling that things were collapsing all around you?
Ever since the Congress tried to impeach former President Clinton, I have
had this feeling. Now that we have a new president and he is the antithesis
of our ex-president, how come I get this feeling that things are collapsing
all around us? Are we collapsed yet?

I note that there is a cabal of Democrats who want to impeach the Justices
of the Supreme Court who decided our last election. This lack of confidence
in the highest court in our land is the highest it has been in a long time.
Remember the early years of Franklin Roosevelt's reign where he tried to
"pack" the court? This is where Roosevelt tried to reverse the conservative
rule of "9 old men". In this last quarter century Republican presidents
have had the opportunity to appoint all the new members of the Supreme
Court. Are we all conservative yet?

Have you been reading about the war-like actions that have been popping up
in unlikely places. The brush-fire wars of other times seem to be getting
out of hand again. Do you have the feeling, as I have, that global war
possibilities are not dead? Are we fully armed yet?

Did you ever get the feeling in reading about the Stock Market that you
aren't worth as much as you thought you were? Did you ever get the feeling
that turning our pensions over to investments in that same Stock Market
would be a big mistake? Do you have any feelings, yet?
Carol's Evaluation: 10 out of 10.
