I SEE BY THE PAPERS
I see by the papers that a lot of "stuff" is happening. We live in
interesting times.

It seems one presidential candidate is living up to his early promise (or
lack of it). The other candidate is frenetically riding a crest of his own
internal fires and doing it well, this time.

A television "show"- the experience of a group of supposed cast-a-ways -
ended. The surviving "millionaire" disappointed Carol. She plugged for the
last female. (Why was this so fascinating?)

Diabetes is on the upsurge for some reason - probably related to the
gastronomic gluttony of a nation of well-off loafers.

I see by the papers that a retired football linebacker could be elected God
in Florida while at the same time a poor foolish manatee gets royal
treatment after blundering into a cul-de-sac in a river way. This while
school children across the nation are crammed into temporary classrooms
while waiting for teachers who do not choose to work in those conditions.

Actually, the nation is still debating the worth of public schools and the
validity of teacher education programs in colleges. The opponents of public
schools are willing to back any proprietary program that claims it can
produce a teacher just like the "60 day wonders" (2nd Lieutenants) who were
turned out in time for them to be slaughtered on the killing fields of World
War II. (Carol will say "enough" on this one.)

The papers show an interesting increase in the number of new cartoons that
entertain us each day. We now have a radical African American strip (a
young precocious kid with an enormous amount of hair commenting on a variety
of interests interesting to a leftist fold). There is a Hispanic strip
teaching us useful words involving an aunt with erratic ways. And there are
two new strips with feminist orientations or, at least, celebrating views
from the distaff side.
Well, thaattss alllll for today ffolks! Carol's Evaluation: 9.5 out of 10.
